You guys do know that those little ricers CAN many times blow your doors off! Come on, if you havn't picked up one of those import race mags you are seriously out of touch. 12 second street driven cars are common. And deep into the nines and eights at the drags! We are talking FRONT WHEEL DRIVE here boys!

Listen, I poke fun at some of this stuff. But a hell of a lot of these guys ARE hotrodders just the same as you and I, they are just driving different machines that's all. I still dig the lowered Hondas sporting steel wheels.

Body customizing, hell that is cool too. The bolt on "kits" are largely crap, but once in a while I see a cool truly customized ricer and I think it is cool.

Let's not throw the baby out with the bath water. And for goodness sakes, don't think they can't run, many DO.

I've seen a 9 second Dodge NEON !!!!!! I have a friend in Fla. who runs his little rice burner at Moroso and KILLS people at betting. No one who looks at his ride expects it to launch, wind up, or go like it does. I used to cruise my 82 Camino and he'd roll in his car , and I'd get ALLLLL the looks / comments , but he had a 1/4 mile time that was 1/2( !! ) of mine ! ( high 9's for him , 16's for me... )
Even if they're fast , they're STILL jap crap in my books , but I was raised by biker-types , so that's just me.



I'll take a "slow" muscle car over a little fiberglassed, fart muffled rice rocket , anyday !

But , yes , they can be made super-fast.
RPMs are King !
