DON'T do this . . . .
Here is a safety tip; If when you are installing sealed bearings on your rear axles (Hotchkiss type - early Olds Pontiac, Chevy, Ford 8" & 9", etc.)and you notice a dent in one of the seals, DON'T use that bearing. Yes they are expensive but so is a new car or funeral. Even a small dent ruins a sealed bearing. If you use it, the race will rub the dent on the inside. That scrapes some bits of metal loose and thus starts the downhill slope as the metal shavings further erode the balls and races. The bearing will very soon disintegrate, fall apart, releasing the axle from the housing => E-ticket ride!!
