door clips

I have 1955 gmc truck and will be using 3 mm pvc foam board for my interior.
Will Au-ve-co 12134 work to hold up the headliner and back of the cab? are just glue up the headliner. I have the small window cab. Is it necessary to double up the door panels? I have read were they use two panels to cover up the clips. I will be using 1/4 closed cell foam.

Thanks

You don't have to double up the door panels as long as the clips don't telegraph through to the outside. Just don't glue down the foam completely around the clip holes. 12134 clips will work fine, but I would not try to use them overhead, mount a base of 1/4" luan plywood for your headliner, and glue the headliner up with HHR (high heat resistant) top and trim adhesive like DAP or 3-M.

Use the luan plywood as a base. Use the PVC foamboard to pad and put in any designs you might want and then glue the foamboard to the plywood base. Here's a link on how to do it: CLICK HERE the tutorial starts at post #18.
