I have a '32 Ford with a set of universal billet door handles that mount with a set screw from the outside (different collars with the set). It's been my experience that these get loose (collars too loose for the square shank and have to be shimmed) and the handle just spins and you have to exit by rolling down the window and using the outside door handle. Is there any other door handle that mounts like the original Ford, except with a screw from the center (like the vent window crank in a '46 Ford), and not with an escutcheon plate or with a pin. I don't have room for the escutcheon plate or even room to insert the pin. I know GM does it that way, but they have splines instead of a square shank. Help!
