door latch 1950 chevy

I am replacing a door latch on my 1950 chevy. I am having trouble getting the plunger from the outside door handle stabbed into the new latch
.
I know there is a trick, Any one know how to do this?

Thanks

i found out the anwser

Since i had no replies and did some research and found out the anwser, Thought i would share it.

There is a clip on the end of the door right above the latch. Pull the clip ( it is hiden behind the weather striping) the outside handle comes off and the you can stab the plunger in to the latch push clin in and wala you have a new latch that works.
