what's the difference between AV 11406 and AV 00808 clips and do these style clips come in different reach lengths?

Thanks

They are basically the same, but the Au-Ve-Co 808 is a little bit shorter than the 11406. This clip is part of a family of clips 11406, 407,408,409, 410, and 411. They do not come in different lengths, but they do come with different head sizes and for different hole sizes. There are other clips that have longer prongs, 7/8" and 1" but they are clips with decorative heads in different colors. They could be used as hidden panel clips.

thanks, do you know if the wire on the brown trim clips is the same size as door panel clips. I guess what I mean is will they hold if used as a panel clip the same as door panel clips?
I know a lot of people are using the 11406 clip through one panel with another panel glued on top, but what happens when the clip is too short since there is nothing longer? my doors have some ribs on them that keep these clips from catching even on a thin 1/8 board.

Yes, the wire on the brown clips is the same as the other clips. Those brown clips were used to hold kick panels on older cars, so they are intended to be used as panel clips. They were put right through the outside of the kick panels and the heads were left showing. That's what I used on the kick panels of a '49 Packard I did, 'cuz they looked just like the originals.
