Like it or not you are going to have to get some of those metal panels! 65 or 66 should work and if I remember correctly the parts are the same on the like years Buick, Olds, Pontiac.

Door Panels

The stuff you need is called water proof panel board....I have it in 2 x 4 sheets...Just cut it off and splice it to the other board.... How to splice?? get a piece of panel board about 3 inches wide get some good waterproof contact glue and overlap the splice board about 1 1/2 inches on each board and presto......but stop about 2 inches from the edges because the thickness will show there.... Use a heavy piece of cotton Duct or canvas for the edges I have videos on all this stuff .....check out my web site ***

Don't know if you are still working on this but I just saw it and thought I would comment. You need to see about returning those to Year One and getting a set of pre-assembled panels, they come with the top rail already installed, as well as with the inner windowfelt attached. Cost a little more than the ones you have, but, if you have to have the top rail its worth it. The problem with trying to use door panel board is the curve at the top of the panel where it rolls over to the window.
