Door Panels?

The door panels on my 1970 Cadillac are the type that overlap into the window channel and not like the flat ones that you see on cars from the '40s and early '50's. In another post I read about materials that are used in order to make new panels. My question is this : Suppose you are making door panels for something like my Cadillac and the backing board id beyond repair? R U forced to go out and find a good donor panel or is there a way to replicate the original one?

You can replicate the old panels with new PVC foamboard or waterproof cardboard. You have to attach the old metal top of the original panels to the new panel board.

No one lives forever, the trick is creating something that will.
