DOT3 vs DOT4

My car manual calls for DOT3 brake fluid, would it be fine if I went with DOT4? All it does it increase boiling point?

dot 4 is synthetic
dot 3 isn't

they don't play nice together..
I'd stick with type 3

Aren't you confusing DOT 4 and DOT5? I'm pretty sure I've read on label that you can intermix dot 3 and 4 but NOT DOT5

Dot 4 is ok

Dot 3, 4, & 5.1 are glycol base
Dot 5 is silicone base
don't mix the 2 base types together.
