Drag racing 700r4 with lockup converter locked?

Pros and cons of drag racing a 700R4 with lockup converter locked? I know there are different ways to lock the converter, electrical and the check ball trick and that it won't lock in 1st, just wondered what the ramifications are when dragging with it locked. With my gearing it only see's 3rd for a short time in the 1/4.

locking the converter usually gives u more mile an hour at the end of the quarter.most guys doing this are using a multi-disc converter and locking it up after 3rd gear.if your only in 3rd for a short time and using a stock type converter, you may see no gain and eventually burn up the clutch.

The clutch in your converter is not designed to handle all the power of the engine @WOT.
If you engage the clutch when @WOT in a attempt to improve 1/4 mile ET or top speed
the life of the converter clutch will be shortened.
