Dream Machines 2013 April 27-28

Well my favorite show is here once again. I will be going there with my friend Steve in his new van. He just got himself a new van and treats it like it's a 32 three window, he is pumped big time and he has never been to this show or half moon bay so we are going to pile in his van tomorrow and hit the road early.

I'll be posting photos. If anyone plans on making it PM me with your phone number and we will meet up.

Haven't been to that show, but I love Half Moon Bay. Went there with my Brother when he was still with us, to a neat place on the shore where they had small intimate jazz concerts. He lived in Cupertino. Have fun!

Well, darn that was a good time with my buddy Steve. He had never been to Half Moon bay, it's a wonderful sea side town about 50 miles south of the Golden Gate and a wonderful time to be had there. He also had never seen a plane up close so it was a kick to go among the planes even under one of them giving him a sight he had never seen.

How about Lambrogini parked between a 40 Ford and a 60 Chevy, that is the kinda show it is.

The people are always in the same mood as me, just thankful to be there, I don't know, it just seems different than other shows. The guy who owned this truck was so cool and we chatted for some time about this beautiful truck of his that was like many cars bought as a "driver" and they just wanted to "clean it up" a little.....now it is a VERY highly detailed piece of art.

How about a real steam roller! Don't see those often.

Can you imagine years ago working for the rail road and taking this rig thirty miles or so? I knew a man who did exactly that!

This flathead powered contraption would have powered many other tools, with belts running thirty or forty feet to other tools like saws or a hay baler.

The previous photo could also power something like this generator. The generator was from an earlier era and would likely have been ran by a "Johnny popper" motor like the one behind it.

This John Deere tractor had a two cyl 502 CI motor!
The piston can be seen leaning against the tire.

This is exactly what my dad's truck looked like when he brought it home in 1966.

John, I thought of you of course when I saw this beautiful 36, with the blown flathead.

This 55 was beyond outstanding, what a beauty!

This plain looking VW bus had a local drag history and a crowd pleaser with massive wheel stands.

And of course from the earliest days of hot rodding.

The Willys gang was in attendance.

I love the virgin cars, this is a motor in an untouched 55 Chevy belair that I forgot to get a picture of.

An OUTSTANDING 58 Corvette, my birth year, always thought I would get one one day.

Maybe this belongs in the "Come on man" thread?

I remember riding my bike down to the Chevy dealer to look at one of these in the showroom.

The kids were kept busy with a multitude of play things including a zip line!

The war birds are always some of my favorites.

I rode my bike down to the Datsun dealer to look at one of these in the show room too.

How about a ROPE driven car?

This Chevelle was outstanding, what beautiful job.

Rat bike?

I went to the San Jose mile to see bikes like this in a full slide at 90 mph around the big sweeping corners. What racing that was.

Don't get it.

In the early days of the personalized plates you could get cool ones like this.

I loved this machine.

A Rat Camaro?

This guy had photos of him with the car 62 years ago!

The low rider guys always have on "Doo Wop" music ("Shaboom" and the like) I will send you a crisp $10 bill if you guess what song was playing when I walked up to this car. It was NOT "Doo Wop".

I remember driving one of these home from the used car lot after working a Saturday with my dad and putting the top up and sleeping in it in our driveway.

A diesel powered motorcycle.

Yep, not all of the SF bay area is paved, this is just 35 miles or so from hwy 101 along the bay and millions of cars. What a beautiful area.

Half Moon bay is seldom very crowded and you would never be stuck in a traffic jamb, but it sure as heck is one of the better places to do such a thing.

You'd be thinking "She's so fine, My 409" but it's a 61 with a 348. So close. Or close enough!!
Luved the yellow Isetta with mini teardrop.
Nice, different rides.
Thanx for the pics!!

The song playing is not anything you could imagine. I'll give you a hint, it's from the 80's and you need a pointed head to like it, I love it.
