hey. i have a 72, and couldn't even begin to imagine the difference between your truck and mine, but what i did was; i cut the drip rails off with a sawzall, and welded it back up, tack here, tack there, til it was solid. no warpage whatsoever. but i did burn through a few places that required added welding and grinding. i would guess there's less then an 1/8" of filler on it now.... i like the difference, but i wonder if the average joe would even notice the change?......
