Post re: drive shaft problem

The 1982 Camaro came with a THM 200C Metric Transmission. It is the same length as a 350 short tailstock (6") The driveshaft from a 700R4 is too long.

Post re: drive shaft problem

This may sound like a dumb question, but have you tried the original driveshaft? I was doing transmissions when the TH200 came out. We changed quite a few over to TH350 for the local dealerships because they couldn't figure out the TH200. As I recall, all we had to change was the TV cable and Filler/dipstick tubes. I don't remember having to change the driveshafts or yokes. Willy, do you remember those days?

The drive shaft is 3 to 4 inches too short. It was the shaft for the manuel that came with them.
I am not sure if the th200 is the manuel or not.

re: drive shaft problem

I have a 81 camaro that i put a 700r4 in the driveshaft out of an 84 went right in so i am assuming, iknow i know, that a driveshaft from an 81 camaro with the 350 thm short shaft would fit

just a thought

Keith
