Hi,i need to replace the yoke on my drive shaft,( going into a 700R4 trans) the problem is that the drive shaft is 1987 GM,it does NOT have the circular CLIPS to hold the u joints in,it APPEARS to have a plastic pin, into the u joint end cap...any ideas on how to change this yoke? or suggestions?

Carefully heat the yoke with a torch and the plastic will melt and run out, when the plastic stops moving, go to the other side and heat it until it melts also, be careful because sometimes the caps will blow off and scare the **** out of you. Be sure to wear safety glasses ! The new u-joint will come with the inside clips. I believe it's a #369
