Driveplate replacement

I have a '83 Chevy C10 that just died due to what I assumed was transmission problems. However, upon further investigation I noticed that the driveplate cracked and sheared off the back of the crank. My question is assuming I can get the bolts that held it on off the back of the crank, can I just replace the driveplate with a new one, or does it have to be balanced with the crank and balancer?

do you mean flywheel/flexplate, if so they are balanced by themselves and are bolt on
