driveshaft
 

I have a 54 f-100 with a 351w, c-4 transmission and a 9" rear end. where would I measure the driveshaft so I can have it cut and welded back together instead of loading the whole thing up and trailering to the shop.

Insert the yoke into the tailshaft bushing so as the travel is halfway and measure the distance from the yoke u-joint centerline to the rear flange centerline with the suspension loaded.
