Thanks for the reply i wuz asking that because i do have a clinging noise thats comeing from that area and it gets louder with the rpm's but then stops after i get going so fast. i aint had time to tare into it but i got tommorrow off work and im gonna look into it just wondering what it could be

Sounds like the needle bearings in a "U" joint has dried up.

The carrier bearing in my '93 Chevy truck started out doing that when before I could figure out which one of 4 places in the 2 shafts it was. It rattled a bit (more like a low growl or grumble) at about 30 mph and then it would stop. What type of vehicle have you got? Automatic or stick?
