Drop spindles and lowering springs

Okay, I`m going to go with 3" drop spindles, but I was wondering if I used lowering springs as well, would I get a greater drop? Also, the truck we are lowering had a 6 cyl. in it and now we are going to a small block V-8, are the springs for the 6cyl. application going to work with the added weight of the new motor?Or did Chevy use the same springs regardless of motor weight?

To answer your first question, yes, the springs will lower your car even more. So if you buy 2" drop springs, then it will be a total of 5" drop.
The second part is a no. The spring rate will need to be different to handle to added weight of the the V8. Just let the spring company that you are getting the springs from know that you're switching to a V8 and they should be able to get you a correct spring rate. Good luck!
