When using dropped spindles what else has to be changed , such as bending, cutting or lengthening, to make them work? Or will everything hook back up as stock? Car is 47 Desoto. Thanks, Denny
If the spindles are ment to fit your car you should not have to modify anything. That is the beauty of droped spindles. They lower your car without changing the suspension geometry. I do not know about the brakes though. Most of the spindle kits I have seen require you to update the brakes. I didn't realize they make 'em for the Desotos.
You need to be aware that droped spindles could cause your tie rods to drop below your "scrub" line if you are useing 14" wheels with 2" droped spindles.
The scrub line is an imaginary line drawn from left rear to right front and right rear to left front bottoms of your wheels.
You don't want steering components to fall below this line for obvious safety reasons.
Also, depending on the type/make of wheel, useing an 11" disc brake will be a tight fit and may require some trimming.
Of course if you go with 15" wheels all should work fine.
