Drum Brakes

I have a 63 Chevy Truck with drum brakes. I have purchased a power brake booster for the drum brakes but I'm wondering if it is a mistake to do this or if I will need power disc brakes. I want to be able to tow a boat with this truck, but have never driven a truck with power drum brakes. Will the brake booster with the drum brakes work sufficiently enough towing a 26 foot boat. Thanks in advance. Richard

power drum brakes

There were power drum brakes on vehicles long before disc brakes became the norm. You should well have enough whoa power. The alternative is to convert over to later model disc brakes if you feel insecure with the drums. Lots of boats have been towed behind pickups with drums on them. Dont worry.
