They are fairly common.

They were more desirable in the junk yard owners eyes.......because then he could sell it to a Chevy, Buick, Olds or Pontiac owner.

I have heard of it, but have not yet been able to see it.

I would like to know if you could possibly take some digital pictures of it so I can post them in my Transmission Information post.

PM me if you can do this and I will tell you exactly what I need pictures of. I only ask that you clean it as best you can beforehand.

This would be GREATLY appreciated.

Back in the 70's they were used regularly. As I recall, they were common in the Buick/Pont/Olds versions of the Nova. Chevy engines were used in them sometimes, and the dual pattern bellhousing made it easier. Yes, some of them were of the lock-up type, but they were used quite often before the lock-up came out.

yup

There were a few made with the dual pattern. The 200-4r had this as well.
GM were trying to save a few bucks by cutting back on the various bolt patterns available.
One size fits all.

Had one in a '77 Buick Century. It was a regular TH350 except for the dual pattern case. No lock up converter or anything like that.
