Dual Quads

Honestly fellas, you have to admit that a nice duel quad set up looks oh-so-cool.

Do they run any better than a good duel plane manifold, or perhaps a single plane?

Nostalgia, it has to be worth a few points,no?

Intakes

Depends on the setup and tuning of the carbs on the intake. Dual planes are all around performers in the low and top end, and the Single planes are higher end performers. Carbs just have to be tuned right.

Down through the history of the automobile, if the everyday version had one 4-bbl, the hot rod version of the same motor had two 4-bbl's or three 2-bbl's. Multiple carbs knock me out and it sounds as if you are of a like mind. Go for it.

You're refering to the dual plane manifolds- so I'm guessing your not talking about a hi-riser like jim85629 (which looks awesome BTW). As far as a dual quad that fits under the hood, honestly I think you'll get more power out of a modern single four barrel. But if you have the room for it - the new Edelbrock manifold supposedly flows better than the old school. I have a big block- and am running an old Weiand dual quad manifold. I rebuilding my engine and staying with the dual quad why? -because as you said, it looks oh-so-cool. It's a bit more rare, and really- you won't be hurting for power! The torque curve is perfect for mayhem (I didn't say racing) on the streets. Keep us statused.
