Dumb Blower Question
When does the blower start working? I know it's not at idle, part throttle, and all that. I have a 6-71 on my Hemi, with 2x4's and I'm wondering. If I floor it, does it start as soon as both carbs are opened up, or does it need to get up to a certain RPM? Never drove a supercharged car before...

Starts makin' boost as soon as you crack the throttle. It needs to be able to breathe to make compression. Cruising at light throttle, it will "windmill", not really making any boost to speak of.

so if I'm cruising along at say 45 or 50, and I floor it, I SHOULD get some response?...

That's what Tech's saying, yes, and it's instant. I drove the Nova to test and tune, about 50 miles from home, and got 10 mph with an 8-71 383, steady throttle at 65. In town it's like flushing a toilet though.
