Dupli color paint shop paint ??????

Howdy, Well I finally finished the body work on my 64 International pickup and just about ready for some paint. This is a real budget build so I was looking around at paint options and came across the Dupli color paint shop system. It has the primer, base and clear in a kit.

Was wondering if anyone has used this product ? How well does it work ? Does it give a good gloss ?

Thanks in advance
Bill

I have no idea about the product other than what I have read. From what I can tell it is a lacquer, that said, I would not use it on anything I own. I have no idea what the price is for the kit you mention. I would suggest using Kirker as many have used it with great long term results.

Thanks old fool for your post and advice. I also did some reading about there paint and I think I am going to find something else to use.

I wanted a good single stage for this build since that is what they would have used back then, and the dupli color is not a single stage.

Looks like I am back in the quest for paint. Have any suggs for a good single stage that will look good, last and not break the bank ??

Thanks again
Bill

PPG Omni or Summit Racing Brand are both nice products for single stage Acrylic Urethane and won't break the bank. Both cure quickly and buff out really nice. You ARE doing a solid color right? b/c with metallics you need 2 stage.

I was a USER

, Hey, I bought the Duplicolor Paint shop BASE, Candy and CLear. It is actually reaaly easy to spray and decent quality. I am a newbie to this field but got good results on two pieces I shot but then the wealth of knowledge and experience of this forum lead me to abandon the product because of the "old Technology" and "not very durable or long lasting" comments I read.
I went to my local Finishmasters supply house and talked with some very knowledgable and helpful guys that sold me Nason brand base coat/ CLearcoat with a Candy Die. This had a much steeper learning curve for me but I learned a LOT from the process and very happy with the results. My 2 cents. Good LUCK
