dupont hothues hotrod black
hey guys, just want to know if anyone has use dupont hotrod black at home?
is it easy to lay,and is it completely flat,Im looking to get that suede black look.by the way this will be my first paint job,so any tips or advice would be sweet. thanks

Yes, I've used that HotHues black. I liked it alot! It lays down like butter, and has a nice even semi-gloss. I don't consider it to be completely matte, it has just the slightest bit of sheen to it. As for advise on applying it, don't be scared of it. Keep it clean, because you can't color sand and buff it. Put it on nice and wet, but don't run it. Maybe you should try a test panel to get accustomed to spraying it. It is a very good product, so I'm sure you'll be thrilled with the out come.

I was talking with Jon Barrett the other day, he has a similar look on his well-traveled 40 Ford which he painted in the driveway. If I remember correctly, he said he used a flat black from Tractors Supply, $20/gallon! I'll try to call him tomorrow and I'll check on it for you. Bill
