Dust Under The Paint

I currently have a 1988 Firebird that is painted red and black. Only the spoiler and part of the hood is black the rest is red. But I painted it in my dads shop, but he doesnt have a dust free environment so we just hung tarps from the roof to prevent paint from going everywhere. But now i have dust under my paint. I also herd if u wax it really well 3 times that the dust will be gone from the paint is it true?

re: Dust Under The Paint

Without any information on the type of paint (base/clear or single stage, solid of metallic, gloss or flat) I will say that it may just need a cut and buff. BUT that is if it is single stage solid( not metallic) or base clear and it is a gloss type paint finish. If it is flat or semi-gloss forget it you cant buff out that stuff to well if at all and save the flatness of it. JMO Tim

re: Dust Under The Paint

No amount of waxing will remove dust in the paint. You can sand out some dust in the clear and buff to a shine, but it depends on what paint you used, how much dust, how deep, etc. Lotsa of variables involved... Can you post pics or does it not show in a photo?

re: Dust Under The Paint

Im not to sure on the paint type because my dad got it for me from a shop. And no you cant see the dust from a photo it isnt that bad only when you run your hand over the car.
