Dwarf Car

my nephew is taking shop at the local high scool.
he's 17 and is building a 34 ford vicky dwarf race car for this year.

A lot of people on here knows about the street legal 31 chevy dwarf car l have. it's a 1989 V-twin honda, about 70ftp torque and about 80HP.
twin carbs and a four speed, NO REVERSE:

l been having wiring issues, it runs for about 30-45 seconds and dies. starts but keeps
dying on me. put in new fuel, new electric fuel pump and it still won't run.

sooooo,my nephew talked to the class teacher and he said, cool car, bring it over for the class spring project they are rebuilding the carbs and see if that helps the dying problem. for just the price of parts they will make it run and drive.

can you imagine the fun that'll be running around town? hahhahha

Sounds like a ignition problem to me, kinda like the stator is bad, this is a common problem on the Honda 3 wheeler engines I`ve worked on. Sometimes when the stator goes bad it`ll run until it gets hot then die. In other cases it won`t start at all. I`m not sure if yours has a stator or not since I`ve not fooled with the more advanced engines, but it`s still a safe bet the problem is somewhere in the ignition.

thanks!! l will have the tech at the school check that out. they have all the fancy stuff to do that. the shop is off campus and rivals almost any pro shop for tools and equipment. new laser alingment rack for front/rear end alingments, analizers for every car made and the building also has a fully equiped body and paint shop. each one is a 5000 sqft shop.

I wish my school had a cool shop class like that. They used to do that and small engines, but all we had when I went to HS was wood shop, residential wiring, and CAD and architecture/interior design.

*sigh*

I did go to the county tech center and study diesel engines though. that was fun.
