E.g.r.

E.G.R. won't fit on my 1977 350 chevy. Has aluminum vette intake and holley carb. E.G.R. hits carb and high rise valve covers. Got a off set spacer now it just hits valve covers. I can't block it off because of pollution laws...any ideas? Can't find a smaller one either. Tried to grind it a bit but went right through. Totally bummed about this one.

Maybe a different spacer or use 2 spacers ...I dunno.
Can you post a photo?
Also...some 80s fords used an EGR plate between carb and intake, maybe you can find something like that. The EGR used to hang off the rear of the plate. Making it less noticeable.

Unbummer it with a remote mount.

Get some chunks of scrap aluminum and build a remote mount for the EGR and connections. Weld in an adapter tube to the headers on one side that provides both a connection to the exhaust gasses and a place to mount the adapter and EGR. Run another tube over to the intake, might need a Tee fitting and connect it into the plenum such that each bank gets roughly an equal share of burnt gasses.

Or if your intake has a provison for the EGR. Make a plate that will fit tubes to and return from the remote mounted adapter with the EGR valve.

Old Bogie is on to something. The moduler ford engines ( 4.6 5.4 and some V 6 engines) us a SMALL diameter EGR valve and The inlet side uses a convoluted flex tube (like a gooseneck for a natural gas line in a house) and that would make it easy to remote mount.
