Early 87 700R4 7 VANE PUMP TO 13 VANE UPGRADE

Is there any issues that I should be concerned about with upgrading the 7 vane pump to the latest 13 vane pump kit. I assume that it is better than the 10 vane kit.

no problems with a 13 vane set up. 10 will work just fine.

Set clearance of the rotor at .0015 - .002 for best results with flat surfaces in the pump and the stator cover is flat - smooth too

13 vane pumps are designed to keep the 300mm converters full at road speed. Additionally they are the most prone to break the rotor under high load or increased horsepower. Use a 10 vane; they worked flawlessly for years.
