early corvette manifold question

I recently procured an early corvette aluminum intake manifold for my 327 buildup. The question is: the casting # is 3844461 which indicates a 1964-5 high horse carbureted 327. the engine is a 67 327 date code k-9-6. the intake is dated 5 31 66 with the letters rd/cm under the date code, what gives?!! the intake casting # is listed everywhere for 1964 and 1965, NOT 1966 or 1967!! is this some rare intake casting leftover from 1965 that the general used in 1967? I know this sounds picky, but I don't want to waste a rare intake on a streetrod engine.

GM had several variations of their aluminum high rises from '62-'67. It may not have been a production line piece but an over the counter service item.

"Chevrolet by the numbers" shows intake # 3844461 as being used on '65 Chevelle with 350HP 327, and '65 Corvette with 350HP & 365HP 327's.

Thats exactly why I'm questioning the may 31, 1966 date code!! the 66-67 intakes looked almost identical, but had a different casting # !!

If the "66" of the date code isn't actually "65", the intake was very likely cast in a service replacement run during '66.

Looks like this? Supposedly used on the 350hp (L79) and the 365hp, 327.
I gave one of these away...man was that a mistake.
