Anyone know how to remove the torque tube from a '40 ford banjo rear end? I have the outer tube disconnected but need to know how to remove the internal drive shaft from the pinion gear. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Go to the magazine stand and look at the latest issue of Street Rodder Magazine. It has a very informative article about Ford Banjo rear ends. Lots of photos.
Clear precise pictures of the information you requested. Difficult to tell you how my the internet, just go look at the photos.

Thanks for the suggestion. I saw the Street Rodder article. It has lots of interesting info on how to identify the different years and stuff, but little technical information - like disassembly. Seems the outer tube will pull off the internal drive shaft if I want to do that, but I'm trying to figure out how to remove the shaft from the pinion.
