Early steering

Does any one happen to know what year steering columns and shafts are interchangable in the 1938 chevy steering box??

What are you trying to do exactly?

Most cars in that era have the inner shaft permantly installed to the internal worm gear.

The outer tube can be removed however.

I am not so keen on running a real old box. It may be a stiff one that binds. The technology was not much in tose days.

Can you go with like a Ford F-1 box? Lots of Ford rods have used them for the old school builds. Might have a lead on one near you...1/2-3/4 hour ride?

Or modern build with Vega or Mustang?
