I've bought both the Metal Blackening kit and the Tin/Zinc kit.

I haven't used the Tin/Zinc kit yet, but I used the Metal Blackening kit and was very pleased with the results.

The usual caveats apply - read the directions!

And when they say the part needs to be clean - it needs to be clean

I probably should not comment on this since I have not used this kit myself but I know someone who has one. The results look great but are not very durable and surprisingly do not protect the part very well and it will rust fairly easily. I noticed in the directions it recommends spraying with their (naturally ) clear wheel paint for "added corrosion protection".
