I know this thread is old but I thought id chime in and say that one or more of the eaton compressors i've seen appear to be the same as the chinese compressors you find at harbor freight which do not last very long. My small twin tank compressor from harbor freight just recently died (motor wont come on even when bypassing the pressure switch). The pump itself looks to be made of all aluminum or pot-metal. Cant be very tough.

Also I've noticed many of those saylor bealle knockoffs like someone else has mentioned. One of their big gas powered compressors has a SB 705 knockoff on it. I know someone who bought one and so far it works good but the unloaded valve did leak pretty good, it had to be fixed. And it needed some other tinkering around to work right but other than that so far so good.

I have a REAL SB 705 sitting outside waiting for a tank and a motor...

whatsisname seems to be on the defense about building stuff in china.People on the defense usually have some sort of guilt.
A Guilty conscience speaks the loudest. IMHO

So old Mr eaton

Thinks he is some sort of tough guy but comes off like some school yard bully. I did not know, he certainly has changed my opinion of him and that equates to his product line. I will be sure to spread the word when asked.. Always glad to help.. word of mouth is the best advertisement..

Eggs Actly. People are talking about his product, if he had a brain he would be in direct contact on google or something to explain that his product is made to high standards and at least ASSEMBLED in USA which is probably closer to the truth. I would have more respect for him if would just man up , shrug off the negative and accentuate the positive about his product.
After all everything is made in china, he could say " well were doing what we possibly can to keep american workers in the loop and hope to do more in the future." Heck, its good enough for O bama ( LOL )
Wish he would give me a job in P R. I know I could sell his stuff and people would be happy to buy it. After all with a 5 year garantee it cant be all bad.

What's really funny is how his bullying has backfired on him! He threatens to sue in an apparent effort to keep us from discussing the FACT that those things are made in China and what happens? Do a Google search on "Eaton Compressor" and the 4th link down brings you here to this thread! Looks like a lot more became known about Eaton Compressors that just the fact they are made in China!

Exactly, oldred. For anyone who wants to know the geeky term for this, it's a classic example of what's called the Streisand Effect, where an attempt to remove something from the internet results in it being publicized even more.

In 10+ years of running this website, we've received numerous legal threats, pathetic attempts to bully us into takedown, and 3 lawsuits, and we've tangled with some big names, including: Coker Tire, The Learning Channel, Eaton Compressor, and Streetbeasts. Most have had their antics end up on the first page in Google, and we've never removed anything as a result of bullying, frivolous legal threat, or lawsuit. You'd think these guys would learn already.

I'm in trouble

Check This out. As I discovered the 5 year "bumper to bumper" warrany is 2 years on motors and drives.

Hmm

I guess my Eaton compressor will be headed to the junk yard. I don't want anything to do with Communist threats. I had enough during the Cold War, but I can do this again if I had to.

Jon,

All I can say is you got balls! If it were me back in the Streetbeasts debacle, I would have folded like a house of cards. That was before my time here at Hotrodders, and now with Eaton, at least this time I can include myself as a contributor for your defense. Free Speech is worth defending.

Bob

I'm guessing that Eaton's PR department is out to lunch on this one. Going after a forum with a perfect track record defending frivolous lawsuits at the same time alienating a loyal membership of over 100,000 aftermarket automotive purchasers. Someone at Eaton is using their head for nothing more than a hat rack.
