There are no "ebay parts," there are parts offered by ebay sellers -- which include jegs and other big names....

The parts you get in your kit are likely the same brands you'd find anywhere else. I've recently been convinced that moly rings are the way to go though I've used the cheap cast ones in the past. For the extra $10 get the moly facing though.

On bearings I only use King silicon allecular now. They've done well in everything I've used them in. Gaskets never really mattered much to me though a lot of people will only use felpro.

I would pay the little extra on the bearings and rings and go with a cheaper elgin cam kit if money is tight.

I buy all my Engine re-ring kits from http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Chevy-Chevell...item58942afd5d
FASTENGINEPARTS. You get Clevite bearings, felpro gaskets, and hastings rings..+ a Free Tshirt for $95.00 bucks. Good to deal with. Bought 8 kits so far, no problems. A re-ring kit in canada is about $377.00 "ouch"

Skip the gear drive and look up a good double roller timing chain.

if you're just doing a simple rebuild you probably don't even need a good double roller chain. I'd skip the gear drive though.

I'm with Cobalt327, hard to beat the quality of the parts and the prices at Northern Auto Parts. Like AP72 said, Elgin cam kits are very affordable, so are Speed Pro.
