ebay? WTF?

is there some kind of scam going on, on ebay?
i was checking out a few cars on there and first there was a 1967 Camaro Conv. SS350, absolutly perfect for a buy it now price of $2,500. i emailed the guy and now i can't even find the aution, it just freaking vanished.
now i find this ? a 1959 vette easily worth $50,000 for a buy it now of $8,999?

WTF?

EDIT: be sure and look at the description on that vette.
tan interior? green exterior? the car is silver on silver.

Not to mention that the seller is located in the U.K. and the car has an American sized liscense plate, not the skinny european one.

It's either a scam or a joke. The dude has 3 nice cars selling way under price. You pay the money, and instead of getting a car you get bent over. No thanks.

These guys come out of the woodwork regularly. Ebay does a pretty good job of jumping on their auctions before any real harm is done. Same story though "buyer beware" could cause you a heck of a lot of grief if Ebay misses it and your out 8500.00.

I would never worry about getting scammed like that on ebay. You simply cannot pull that kind of crap on ebay, the administration does not screw around with stuff like that. If you sell something on ebay and take somebody's money without giving them the product they will hunt you down and find you and extract payment. Garaunteed.

Ebay didn't get huge by letting people jerk them around-

people are always being ripped off on ebay they are selling the car in one location but they live in anther?this is where they say foward the money into my account and you never here from them again as for the guy above this thread you will be learning the hard way $$$$ look up chevy engines on ebay and you will see there are a few engines buy now $4500 ,go back a week later the same engine diffrent seller and no feed back somone has been ripped off
check the feed back if look you will find that they are buying cheap things to get a good feed back but there is no feed back for them selling?
and as for killerformular why dont you try and get in contact with ebay let me no if you get any reply from them,we have had flim crews turn up at there office in london and even they dont get a reply.
ebay is a gamble i would only spend what i could afford to lose and if possible go and pick it up yourself, and ifit is a bargin of a life time just stop and think why would you sell something that is worth $15000 for $5000,that will be because itis a scam happy ebaying everyone

There is a scam going around with an Ebay looking email saying your account has been compromised. EVERYTHING in the email looks official with the exception of the year, fake letter has 2003. They wanted my password to "fix" everything. I forwarded this to Ebay, it was fake, they were investigating. This may have happened to the guy selling the cars, he has a good history, someone probably scammed his account. Be careful about giving any passwords to anyone without checking through the official website, the official website wouldn't likely need your password. Also, if it's too good a deal, it's probably not a deal at aall. Dan
