1993 chevy 1500. took out a 4.3 ltr.v-6 and the 4l60e tranny. now i have the 5.7 ltr frm a 1995 truck with a good 700r tranny .i tried changin the ecm but still i cant get fire to leave my coil . n the switch on position all four wires r hot on the coil. even tried another coil.
check your installation job for missing grounds. Then verify power at the proper terminals in the ecm. BE SURE to probe the harness with the connector unplugged to avoid probing the wrong terminal and cooking something. There shoould be 1 or 2 power wires, maybe even 3, one allways hot and 1 or 2 that are switched, I dont have the schematic in front of me or I would coach you through it. Get one and check the approriate terminals.
Post your results.Peace.
without having schematics for BOTH trucks you may not figure it out.I would look for both.
My guess is there is differences in the connectors / wire / pins... at the ECM between the 2.
Im gonna change my distributor for the sake of changin tha pik up coil. pink wire is batt. pos. green\white is fuel . also the system is grounded. from tha ecm all is good at switch on position fuel pump dont work properly either. coil wires are hot n da run position but no fire to tha coil secondary wire. any ideas, plz feel free to share with me, would i have to change my ecm? 9123819053, feel free to help me, id appreciate it.
I don't think the 1995 trucks used the PASSLOCK anti-theft system, but you might want to verify that.
