ecm type

does any body know the type ecm a 1995 olds 98 has? unable to pull code with scaner. the connection appears to be obdii.

95 gm cars are weird the are wired obd2 and have the obd2 diag port but they are not obd2 compliant and the ecms are obd1. Most good code readers can read the codes but a generic obd2 scanner can not. I would take the car to a local advance auto or autozone and have them run the codes for you. I think you can do the old paperclip and count the blinks trick but i dont remember what pins need jumpered.
