Edelbrock 1904 secondaries question

I have a new edelbrock 1904 795 cfm carb and I am curious about the secondaries (vacuum secondaries)

Is there a vacuum line I need to use to get them to open or do they simply open when intake manifold vacuum increases enough?

I rev the engine up to 4000+ RPM while in Park and the secondaries don't open. So I am wondering if there is a problem or if it is just because there is no load on the engine so it isn't creating enough vacuum.

Rick

They well open on their own, but you will need to be driving it at full open throttle to get them to work. Sitting still won't do it, unless you got the balls to floor it and watch down the carb!!! LOL Vac secondaries usually won't open if the choke is still on either. Plus sometimes they take a few seconds to get opening too.

Lookin down the carb

I learned that lesson by watching a friend do it.

Looked down the carb and started revving the engine. Good thing he wore glasses.

All he lost was some eyebrow hair and his dignity.
