With both dots/marks @ 12 oclock you are at #1 cylinder at TDC, crank dot at 12 oclock and cam dot at 6 oclock (lined up close together) you are #6 cylinder at TDC.
As mentioned the set you have will work fine straight up. |

A new stock replacement or perf SBC timing set will not be retarded.
This note refers to smog era Ford V8's like the 351C. Normally you do not need to adjust the cam phasing. If you want to play you must degree in the cam before moving it. Do not guess. Do not monkey with without degree ing it. The cam "advance" is already built into the cam. |
