edelbrock 600 problems/ no fuel to half

ok so my edelbrock 600cfm carb, mounted to a edelbrock performer on a sbc is not sending fuel to cylinders- 3,5,2,8, which if you look closely at the intake all these cylinders are fed by one side of the carb. cylinders 1,7,4,6, are doing fine which are fed by the other side...????? When the car is at idle all cylinders are alive sometimes, but when you give it gas the 3,5,2,8, just die out due to lack of fuel....

can anyone give me some advice on this, i did a visual inspection on the carb and found nothing out of the norm.

carb prob

On an Edelbrock carb you have a separate float foe each side of the carb, as in one float for one primary and secondary on one side and another float for the other two, so maybe one needle is hanging up on one side. Pull the top off and check each float. You are right that one side of cylinders is separate from the other side.

Thanks mudman, i've always been decent with a wrench, but this is my first total build up and this has really got me stumped. With the said cylinders acting up all at once, it's evident that it's a carb issue.... due to the style of intake, im gonna check her out tomorrow and go from there.

carb

Ya it's not to bad to just take the top off if you don't want to pull the whole carb. Take out the two litle screws out on top for the needles and springs underneath and a small clip for choke linkage fast idle on drivers side and same kind of clip on pass side for choke linkage. Then srew that goes thru plunger sticking out on top for accelerator pump, gas line at pass side and the screws on the top and the top just pulls straight up. Once you do it a couple of times it's way quicker than pulling the carb. Good luck, it will go alright.
