Edelbrock alu heads advice

hi guys,
i've a GM goodwrench 350, those made in mexico, 1 generation style, it has speed pro flat top forged pistons and the Edelbrock 2102 (idle-5500)camshaft underneath, performer intake and TBI fuel injection on.
it has also 76cc chamber heads with 1.94 and 1.5 valves.
it has been built for offroading so nothing fancy just a good torque at low rpm and decent hp, well, i've a brand new Edelbrock performer alu heads 70cc chambers i bought for another project and i'm figuring out how the can perform in this engine, even coupled with a 4x4 extreme cam by Comp Cams built for 1800-6000 rpm.

now, i don't really need to have a bunch of hp but i like the idea of the lightweight alu heads and probably they help to keep engine cooler due to the alu properties as well but i'm afraid about to loose lot of torque at low rpm that offroading driving really need to have.
i also can use just the alu heads keeping the "old" mild cam, probably bigger valves likes greater duration but...
so, do you think is just a waste of money or not?
should i use the "hotter" cam or i can leave the old one to avoid a waste of torque too?
i'm not an expert so i'm open to tips,
any help will be apprecciated!

GM Vortec heads and a Vortec TBI intake will do quite a lot for your application. Keep the cam you have.

thank you Larry,

i'm with you about Vortec heads but i've two pairs o heas here on the shelves ready go on the engine, the aluminum and an old pair came out of a '69 block that i've completely refurbished, new valves, new springs, keepers, retainers, new positive seals and grinded, but they have 1.72" intake and 1.50" exhaust valves, in your opinion how many hp can i loss with these heads? the idea to have some less power isn't exactly what i want...

talk soon
