Just installed a new alum. intake and 600 vac sec edelbrock[ reman] carb on a 67 camaro 327 [stock]. The idle screws do not work.All the way in or out does not make a difference. Seems to be flooding too. Hard to start unless you hold the pedal down to floor and spuing black smoke out the pipe.After a big bog and hesitation , it fairly strong. Any ideas on why the idle screws do nothing. I checked for vac leaks by spraying carb cleaner with a straw and seems fine.

Sometimes the front primary's are opened so far that it exposes the idle slots it in the primary's. Try upping the timming 2-4 degree's and lower the idle back down to 700. Then they might begin to respond. long cams that need alot of idle air will cause this to happen quite frequently.
