Edelbrock Carb and TPS fix

I've got a '56 Dodge 315ci Poly with a new Edelbrock Performer 600cfm Carb (part no. 14064). I had the chance to pick up a real inexpensive 98 GM truck 4L60e trans core and would like to use this with the Optishift electric transmission controller. But it (and all of these controllers) need a throttle position sensor (tps) in order to feed info to the computer. Holley makes a sensor that fits there 4160 carbs, but it seems Edelbrock doesn't have one and the only set-up that I see out there is a kind of cable operated tps that Optishift says has some problems.

Has anyone figured out a different method to adding a tps to an Edelbrock carb?

I was looking at Holleys new tps for carbs with electric chokes (which my Edelbrock has) and am wondering if it can be made to work?

I hate to have to get rid of my new Carb and buy a Holley which I am not very fond of, so any help is greatly appreciated. I like the Optishift system because you can lock-up 3rd or 4th gear, adjust all shift points, and even set-up a 2nd alternate set-up which you can switch to with the flip of a toggle, for instance, one set-up for the street and a 2nd for a weekend playing at the track.

Ust the cable setup idea and put you own sensor on one. You should be able to fab that up pretty easy.
