Edelbrock E-Tec Heads vs- Edelbrock Rpm`s.

I`ve heard from many that the E-Tec cylinder head by Edelbrock is better than the RPM head. Enough said. I have a set of RPM Heads ( 64 cc ) and the engine is dis-assembled. Before I put it back together, is there anything that I can do to my RPM`s to make them better? example-porting?

355 chevy, 9:7.1 CR, rpm intake, 750 carb, balanced.

The E-Tec heads work a little better because the slightly raised intake ports.

A five angle valve job for the RPM heads will help some. If the shop you choose has the tooling to do a bowl cut with the valve job, get it done. You'll get more for your dollars there than you will with a die grinder and a carbide cutter.

Make sure to use a reputable machinist, ask for customer references.

I was involved in a customers engine for circle track applications and found the edelbrock heads had chamber centerlines all over the place. Seems the quality was low. I don't know if this is indicative of the overall QC though.

According to flow tests by Chevy High Performance & others these heads flow almost identical numbers. But if you decde to sell your Performer RPM's please let me know first!!
Johnson, did you send those heads back to E-brock? I understand they are good about replacing defective product.
