edelbrock performer intake question

on this intake there is 2 screw holes in each corner and someone told me you can bolt both a spreadbore and squarebore carb on there is this true? i thought you had to have an adapter to put a square bore carb on that intake. ???? which is true

Yes it will take the Holley Squarebore pattern or Quadrajet spreadbore pattern. The 2 different carbs have different bolt patterns that's why 2 holes in each corner. You still have to have some type of adapter plate to cover & seal the larger rear bore area though.

You can run a square bore, no adaptor plate needed. You have to find the right gasket though. Not sure if a square gasket will work. I used a ratty old Q-Jet insulator gasket that I tried to replace but they're not all the same... Or just get gasket material and cut it on the intake.
