Edelbrock Thunder Series carb

I may sell my Edelbrock Performance Series 600cfm 4b carb and upgrade to a Edelbrock Thunder Series carb 800cfm. Is this too much for my '62 caddy with the original 390 v8 big block? Does anyone have this carb and how much better is it? Another thing, I had a hell of a time getting a kickdown/throttle adapter for my Edel so I had to get one custom made. Does Edelbrock make adapters for all applications or just certain cars? My cad uses both a throttle and kick down rod and most adapters seem to be for cable actuated. Edel just doesn't seem to support my engine because I haven't found an intake manifold for it either from them. Thx for any input

If you have the stock cam in that Caddy, the 600 is plenty of carb. The 800 would probably soften your throttle response & make your gas mileage a bit worse. If you have a single exhaust, a dual setup would probably be a much better bang for your bucks. There are a couple of companies that specialize in Cadillac performance, but I don't know if they deal with the older ones. If not, maybe they know who does.
