egr
were the termeststat on the intake there is to hoes that come of it what is that thing called and what does it do. should there be vacum to the carb from it because on mine there is no vacum on both hoes at all thanks.

It's probably a temperature switch that cuts off vacuum to something (EGR, maybe) when the motor's cold. One hose should go to the vacuum source (carb probably) and one to the thing it serves.
