EGR tube thread size? 96 vortec 350
I want to remove the egr tube from the header to the egr. I tried matching it up at Home Depot but it is larger that 1/2" and just a hair too big to be 5/8". Is this a metric pipe thread? Any info will be greatly appreciated!!!

If you are getting rid of the tube, just cut the tube nut off and weld it closed or plug the tube nut with a pipe fitting. Then reinstall both ends.
Why are you removing the EGR? You are obviously tampering with an emmissions device; you've been warned.

Thanks for the reply!!! I have a tune that bypasses the egr so I don't need it if I don't have to have it! I will look for that size pipe insert and plug! Thanks,
