Have you ever worked flat rate? Not so out of thier minds when they have to diag the problem and it turns out to not be the valve itself. It will be just the valve because they use the same stly of valve on my wifes 04 caravan and I just replaced it, they leak some exhaust gas internally and it craps out the valve. $75 part. Good luck, the only replacement valve I could find was at the dealer. Aaron

$100/ hr probably, that is probably listed for 1 hr labor, flat rate. probably somewhere around $100 to scan it ( they won't just change a part ) and around $60 for the part, that's not overcharging, but you could do it yourself for less, EGR's arn't hard to install.
